SOmusicUL Bcs I speak Slovak I watch A4TV interview with her. Its very interesting or (sorry Adela) strange her way to this music (still I like to know more). Its like (very simple and from perspective of what she is/was listening) pop - gap (almost not listening to music) - boyfriend (introduce to different kinds of music). Not a traditional way of music artist. Her way to become artist its like I can do smthg on my own.....and here you can listen the outcome from this idea, enjoy. C U in Prague. cardboard lamb ~ I finally had to purchase this album after weeks of obsessively listening to it.
I fell asleep on the bus from Rotterdam to Brussels listening to Interlude I and was woken up by the beautiful bass of Gyönvyirág that just felt like it moved through my whole body.
What a sensitive, varied, and well-produced album - full of field recordings, distant mutterings, repeated phrases that sound like whispers or promises, (un)comfortable electronic noise & experimentation.

Szabadság is a navigation. This debut by Adela Mede, recorded in her family home on the Slovakian border with Hungary, searches through the personal, familial, cultural, folkloric and geographic of her past and present.

Examining both the vulnerability and determination of her voice - as it leaves the lips, raw, and in the ways it can be transformed with digital processing - the embodied memories of language, of utterance, are explored.

Airy, open sound worlds and tentative strings of improvised naked vocal transform themselves into insistent repetition. Fizzing, sparkling electronics are set against the beautiful grainy depth of field recordings. The locations, these places, are found and lost - home is found and lost - in a dance of fragmented vocal harmonies. Three languages (English, Hungarian, Slovak) weave a song of spring, nature, forgiveness, togetherness and rebirth.
